Molecular insight into patterns of colony composition and paternity in the common mole-rat Cryptomys hottentotus hottentotus - Mol Ecol, Vol 13, Issue 5, pp. 1217-1229 (Abstract): An "outlook": Bishop et al. show an interesting insight into a non-insect colonial society where a number of significantly smaller males were found to sire offspring, suggesting what they call "a sneak-mating strategy by subordinate within-colony males"...
